Not sure whether this is legit. If it is -- and the restoration was executed by Kent Spong --, Im afraid this is the price to get used to.

As a CS80 owner I can say its worth every penny.

Laughing I just thought this listing was a bit of a joke either way.
The going price for a recently restored one is usually half that, around 6000-7000 , I am not sure which synth would be worth $25k (mega modulars excluded)

In fact, a couple have been sold at prices like this.

Of course this is mental.

The auction as such is quite interesting, especially when checking the sellers feedback. Seems to dabble mainly with Caterpillar excavators etc., and lo and behold, in 2011 he had already sold a CS80 but apparently, 1,800 US$ wasnt enough.

What a time-waster.

Perhaps a Fairlight CMI.

A Fairlight is worth maybe 2,500 Euro. Normally, they change hands at something like 5,000 to 6,000 Euro, depending on what series.

30 years ago, a Fairlight was trail-blazing. Today, a Fairlight is... cute.

Computer technology does not age all too well, you know.

That's true, but it still would be very cool to have something like a Fairlight CMI-III in your studio Smile

Yeah, as a doorstop or paperweight Smile.

Seriously, as long as its working its great. As soon as something is going wrong with it, its really seriously going wrong -- and you wouldnt want to pay the repair bill.

Of course, thats not only true for a Fairlight.

And what about the new CMI-30A Model. I heard it has many improvements. Except that it's still way to expensive and that only 200 will ever see daylight.
