Axel (Neuron) Hartmann has been posting 3D rendered images of a new synth which looks like an up2date Waldorf Wave.
Without any explanation conspiracy theorists speculate this may be a new Hartmann or Waldorf synth, who knows.

But if it makes into production it will become instantly an "object of desire" even if just a few LED's work and nothing else Very Happy

Two wheels behind each other rather than next to each other shows how detached from reality Axel Hartmann is as a designer, let alone as a performer.

I found his designs pretty daft (and he delivered volumes of designs in the early and mid 1990s that were extensively featured in Germany's KEYBOARDS magazine), and I have the impression that he follows the formula "Function Follows Form" rather than the other way round. Maybe he should stick to Dieter Rams' famous quote, "The best design is as little design as possible"?

The only Hartmann design I found attractive was the original Micro Wave 1 -- but only as long as I didn't have to program sounds into it.

Things may change for production, it looks more like a fiddling instrument for a sound designer rather than a performer.
Style wise it's all Waldorf Wave and I am not sure what market would it aim for.

This is just a Studiologic Sledge in a new designed housing. Just compare the pattern of the knobs and buttons with a Sledge: it is identically. And there were other renderings shown by Axel Hartmann on Facebook showing a bit of the labels of the oscillator section: and it was exactly the same knob parameters as on the Sledge: that is wavetables only on OSC1 and no Envelope to wavetable modulation available on the front panel (never checked the modular routings on the display).

So while this looks real cool, it is from the sound engine view a castrated Waldorf Blofeld only.

And yes, apparently they will assemble 20 of these, if Axel wasn't fooling us on Facebook.

Well, then it's just another typical example of intellectual property recycling.

The gorgeous design would impress even Stevie Wonder but a commercial release would make no sense, probably one of many Axel's dreams.

They are building the first units. Maybe just 20 pieces (hence the name of this Facebook group ?)
