I have the self-titled album from UK, and his playing is top notch. Where to go from there?

As far as I remember, he plays on some albums of Pierre Moerlen's Gong, e.g. "Shamal" I think, and also on Jean Luc Ponty's "Enigmatic Ocean", which I like.

Then I found this website, which looks interesting (didn't investigate it very deeply, though...):

No one mentioned Atavachron and Sand...

Holdsworth was in the 1980's a guru on the Synthaxe and Atavachron a must for fusion and em listeners(those willing to leave TD land...). He's got chops that make jaws drop!

I think his guitar play on Soft Machine - Bundles is superb.
Definitely worth listening to.

All the Jean Luc Ponty albums that he plays on are worth checking out.

He also played with Tony Williams Lifetime. Suggest picking up 'The Collection' compilation.

+1 just got the cd recently amazing group of musicians and although Holdsworth isnt on all the tracks he definitely leaves his marks on those records.

Forgot he also plays on JL Pontys Individual Choice on 2-3 tracks. Its the most electronic of all the JLP releases from 1983.

Also... check out "Blues For Tony" a live double album, released in 2009. Some absolutely awesome work. This link will give you a flavour...

... bear in mind that we're talking jazz and not prog.
