I'm using a heavily altered Ubuntu (standard version) for a few weeks now and I'm not sure if I'm ever going back to windows again. It's fantastic.

Thanks.
For now I'm using VMWare Server (using it at our work as well) and have installed XP in there. Haven't found a use for it yet though.
There are some tasty programs in the Ubuntu Studio version, all the right software to make all the music you want. Smile

I've been dual-booting Ubuntu 8.04 and XP SP3 for the past few months and I must admit that Ubuntu is now my preferred environment by a long way.

I keep my Windows partition for the Nord Modular editor (The application will run under WINE, but I can't figure out how to get it to see my MIDI connection) and for the M-Box running Reason (Windows ASIO drivers). The kids have also got a few games that'll won't run under WINE. It doesn't bother me having it there - I'm no zealot who wants to 'stick it to Microsoft'. It's just a PITA having to restart the machine to go from one OS to the other. Confused

It'd be nice to see the big name software and hardware companies supporting Linux natively, but I think Windows/Mac will dominate the computer music scene for the foreseeable future.
