Is anyone interested in my Korg Rhythm 55?
It's in good shape, fully functional (+ original double foot-control)

But I don't want to sell it (prices on ebay range from 250-350). I would like to swap for a different vintage drum machine.

What would you have in mind? Is it a KR-55 (the mocca-brown one), or the KR-55B (the black one)?

A CR68 seems realistic, CR78s in good nick go for 550+ Euro -- without the WS-1 programmer (which would be an extra 350 Euro).

Decent CR78's seem to be 1500+ euro now. Silly money.

that's silly, really.

ok, that was just an idea, because the sound of the KR-55 never really attracted me.
I am not very into old drum machines (only got a Mini-Pops and a Farfisa Rhythm 10 which both sound more interesting to me), I use them rarely (got a real drummer Wink)

I liked the 55 for some applications but its sound is quite firmly rooted in early Depeche Mode territory. Or Magnetic Fields, for that matter. Oh, and early Neuronium (Chromium Echoes).

I guess thats why Andr Alvarez used it to death on his album ages ago. And thats why I sold mine around 1999.

The price for this 78 is silly, and Im quite sure it wont fetch that much (just pushing theenvelope a bit, I guess). It wouldnt even sell for this sort of money in the VEMIA.

And then of course there's this at 2500 dollars, and it doesn't even work properly...
