Well, an entry like this was of course absolutely predictable...

The most gifted: Vangelis
The most influential : Klaus Schulze
The one who made the EM better known: Jarre
And the Oscar goes to...
... Tangerine Dream (or at least, the Froese / Franke / Baumann / Schmoelling years)

I was thinking about this the other day. I think Klaus is the least known (by far) compared to V,TD,Jarre, etc. I'm not sure how influencial he was since "most" people never heard of him or his music. Even within "electronic fan"circles he's the least known. Kraftwerk were/are easily more influencial to music as a whole, no?
Just my thoughts on the subject...

Indeed when someone does not know Schulze, he asked for this kind of answer

without Schulze there was no (electronic) Tangerine Dream, Ash Ra Temple, Kitaro, Steve Roach

I go with Avaro,
Vangelis the best Musician using EM.
Klaus Schulze, the best EMusician being the most consistent, I like the TD Baumann era too but 5-6 albums from the 70's are no match for KS's output.
Leaving KS out sounds like "and the winner is TD"
