One of my fav soundtracks is Solaris by Cliff Martinez. The unusual mixture of ambience, sparse orchestration & processed percussion really melds together beautifully.
Anyone else like this one? Are there other release of his in a similar vein?

I have this one. Yes, is absolutelly fantastic.
But I don't have anything else. I remember I was quite impressed by the music he composed for the film "Kafka" from around 1992 but never saw it on cd.

I presume his music for TRAFFIC is quite similar to Solaris.
Is it correct that Martinez is/was a member of Red Hot Chili Peppers?

I am not aware of that, would be very interesting if true!

Ah OK, looks like he makes an appearance in the Red Hot Chilli Peppers "What Hits" video.

Great soundtrack.
And yes, he was the original drummer for the red hot chilli peppers.

Isn't this movie a remake from an Andrej Tarkovski movie by the same name?
The (superb) soundtrack for that was done by Edward Artemyev on the legendary ANS synthesizer.

Great soundtrack which is now quite a collectors item due to its limited release however I got mine from LooniTunes which almost seemed like value for money next to how much the CD goes for these days.
