New Release from Groove Available End July/August

Walter Christian Rothe Alice GR-239

http://www.groove.nl/cd/g/gr-239.html

After a year of planning, restoring and lots of TLC I am very happy to announce the 30th anniversary
re-release of this master piece by WALTER CHRISTIAN ROTHE .
For year my whish was to re-release this fantastic album and with the great help from Walter but especially Dan Deznan, i am honored to re-release this epic story of Alice.

Here some thought from Dan without whom this would have not been this fantastic!!

Thinking back to the days before Internet and no reviews, every
mail order brought surprises. Alice was no exception with it’s
striking cover grabbing my full attention till I turned it over
and realized I was contemplating a vocal album.
The real surprise came after hearing the first two (vocal)
tracks dispelling all my reservations.
Walter has successfully bridged the seemingly
impossible gap between vocals and instrumental
electronics with a flowing concept album.

That was thousands of albums ago and hearing it 30 years on,
Alice sounds as timeless as ever.
The original form eluded a CD release and in a positive way,
it still does. It was great preparing this classic from a fan and
collector to other peers.

Yes! One down, one (Solitude) to go.

(although Alice was in some form already available on cd, as The Story of Alice on IC). But still, this re-release is a very nice addition to the collection. Thanks Groove!

I wonder if there'll ever be a remastered release of the tapes "Night Moves" & "Poland Requiem"?

Next to, the already mentioned, "Solitude" of course

Hello everybody,
just received the IC Version in the mail today, took me a long time of searching... I was not aware that this CD is related to the "Alice" record (discogs treats them as 2 different records with no mention of overlaps) - could somebody explain the differences?
Thanks!

.
the original alice was a story, a real musical story, which IC botched up IMHO because frst they left tracks of, and shuffeld evertything else and added tracks that had nothing to do with the original release.

ok, thanks, found it indeed hard to follow the Story on my cd.
I actually came across "Alice Theme Part 1" on an IC sampler first and then wanted to find out How the Story continues Wink

The first days of September have passed and still no trace of Alice. Did she get lost in Wonderland? Wink
