How does Beibl sound?
I have played this EP over and over again. I never tire of it. But on the other hand I love progressive, instrumental metal. He's in the same league as Marty Friedman or John Petrucci on this EP/Demo. I knew he had the talent to pull this off, but I never expected such a release would happen. Just wonderful. Give it a try.
Not too keen on anything metal to be honest, but I guess I'll listen to it sooner or later.

Not too bad, actually. I like the melodic stuff similar to Maxxess or Satriani.

.... great choice. I think 'Colours' is one of the best tracks I've heard for many years.

They are supporting Marillion in Copenhagen, so I thought I'd use the giftcard on this band, to check them out. I'm not hooked yet, as I think they are not that unique or interesting. But maybe with a few more listens, the penny will drop.

OK, thanks Pertou.
Zoning DVD is interesting. Is it the 1986 version? How does the music differ from the 1996 CD version? I always found that phenomenon a bit puzzling, that TD re-recorded the music 10 years later, and if it at all sounded similar to the 86 film.

I haven't seen it yet, and I know it will be terrible (that's what Jerome says), but you can buy it extremely cheap on amazon.de.

It's surprising no one has mentioned this one before (at least not here... I got the tip from the Beyond-EM mailing list):
Nothing but Noise - Not Bleeding Red
Nothing but Noise is a project of Front 242 founder Daniel B. Fat, vintage synth sounds (fully analog!) with clear Berlin influences. Not quite as dark as Node, but it's definitely in the same vein. This double cd is highly recommended!
This rocked up yesterday and what a nice surprise full of raw anlog stuff, melodic sequences starting as Jarre's Equinoxe 6 evolving into Teutonic mightiness...great presentation of 2CD's tucked inside a Hardbook style digipack with a few images for booklet.
And, from their website intro:
Be aware that when you buy “Not bleeding Red ” in vinyl format, you also get a voucher to download the tracks in wave format. (Another proof that the label Future Noise Music is really serious when it comes to music.)
What does this mean, buy Nostalgia, and we throw in some decent audio
Great find but not for the melodic synth/tunes audience.
