Just found this obscure 2CD from 2007, all writing in Russian and Google translates the 1st CD as Wealth, maybe meaning Treasure?
The second one is clearly translated as Film Music.
These CD's are full of little surprises, from symphonic to synth compositions, I have not had time to compar the tracks (got to translate them first) to 2-3 other compilations but from a first spin it sounds like these compositions were not released before on CD.
EA composed a massive amount of unreleased music, from lone track themes to full scores, this set is a Gem.

Cool. I have always been interested in his synth score from the 1990 film L'Autostop. Wonder if there is anything from that on the disc.

Have you got the book about him, written by a woman I don't remember the name of?

Hi all

Jon, I've got the book you mention. It's called Edward Artemiev's Musical Universe by Tatiana Yegorova. It's good covering the first years of Artemiev's life, but it lacks a lot of information about his Hollywood soundtracks and much more technical information on the ANS Synthesizer. It could be a much better book if the author had done more research. Here is my review for my blog.

All the best

This (bootleg) CD consists of film music only. And yes, the first three tracks on disc 1 are from L'Autostop.

Thanks Artemi, just got this a few days ago and been listening non stop, a bootleg makes sense why it's so unknown.

But the sound is 110% with no evidence of restoration and great stereo imaging, someone had access to the music as delivered to the film studio for film editing. These are not extracts from video sources.

As for presentation, someone was also keen to clone KS LVE package: 3 pane digipack, the CD's even have the balck LP type grooves but as an image, not textured as on LVE, and the CD's are silver pressed not the black data side type.
CD1 has selected tracks from 6 movies;

Autostop (1990), and the 5th is Rodnya (Relatives) from 1983
I have to figure out the others using this info:
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0005949/

CD2 looks like a compilation of lone tracks, maybe from TV series, I'll see what I can make out of this all over the coming weekend.

Jon, go get it here for $20:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ARTEMIEV-FILM-MUSIC-BOMBA-MUSIC-2CD-DJ-PACK-/400300030255?pt=Music_CDs&hash=item5d33bdb92f
If you don't like minimum 50% of it, I'll refund you the cash and you can toss the disc away Very Happy

Thanks, wish I could read spanish. Wink

A shame that the book doesn't take all parts of his career seriously, it's really the (Hollywood) soundtracks that are the most interesting for me.

So what do you think about those Autostop tracks?

I would also be interested to know if there is anything from Homer & Eddie, Double Jeopardy and The Odyssey on the discs.

No longer available on Ebay now.

My bad. Just had a look and it does seem like a legit release, although a very obscure and limited one. The scarcity may be explained by the fact that it was released by another label (not Electroshock). At least the CD is sold in a couple of official online shops, so it *must* be legal. Somehow...

Still, the origins of the CD remain obscure and largely a mystery to me. I thought that Artemiy Artemiev had all rights for future E.Artemiev releases, so I am not sure how could this release actually slip through. Maybe still a bootleg or a limited release by special license?

Laughing It's not easy to figure out this release 100%, the 2CD concept and some of the content is similar to the Territory Of Love. Music For Nikita Mikhalkov's Films. The Collection Edition:
Image

However, some of the music is on both releases and some not.
The topic CD release has 3 tracks from Autostop, the one above has 4 and also has some tracks from Urga which the one we discuss does not.

The 3 Autostop tracks are good, typical 70's French romantic style, but there is a lot more better music than that like the Smoke Of Fatherland (from An Unfinished Piece For A Mechanical Piano) with a dreamy Vangelis piano over choirs.

So CD1 was easy because the tracks were grouped under the respective movie titles, CD is just track names...
I also found for example that the movie An Unfinished Piece For A Mechanical Piano used music by others explaining the selected/lone tracks.
The Introduction (from A Few Days from the Life of I. I. Oblomov) is also brilliant, again dreamy piano on a Tomita style choir background.

Translating the Russian titles to English then Google for info does not always bring up something, so I'll end my quest for finding every tack's origin and just listen to it Very Happy

I see this Bomba Music label released another CD's with 41 mp3 tracks, again some tracks are the same, some new, reorganized the sequence, who cares, I got enough...

So probably nothing from movies "Homer & Eddie" or "Double Jeopardy", then?

I don't know, from CD2 I only identified 1 track being from A slave of love, the rest are just track titles with no hints about their origin, titles like Finale, Farewell, Attempt, Memory, etc. These could be from any movie and with no other releases to compare the track times then music I give up and enjoy the music.

here are a couple more similar compilations:
