Michael, that was some nice reading.

I wish that I could do that the same way, but I am afraid it will have the same effect as my music........boring to death ;p

btw I do not believe in a conservative EM scene. I think most EM fans are progressive one way or an other. It takes a lot of courage to listen to old and new TD or Schulze ;p

Thank You, Bert!

If You like, You can hire me as a ghost writer... Wink

But who did say Your music was boring? Actually, guess what I listened to twice while typing that last evening?

To the second half of "The End" (YOUR album, not the Doors song... Wink ).

Great stuff, I especially love the parts where You go "classical avantgarde" if You know what I mean...

As for "conservative EM fans" I guess I had those in mind who would rather listen to "Le parc" than "Zeit" (roughly speaking).

Kilian from SynGate forwarded me this friendly little review by Dave Law of MusikZeit:

‘100 Miles Under the Stars’ is apparently Michael Breuckner’s 100th album but the first to be released by a label. I suspect that this can only be because he didn’t want this to happen, as the music is certainly good enough for many electronic music labels to be interested in bringing it out. This is hugely enjoyable, excellently composed melodic music with first class rhythms and simply gorgeous backing textures. There are also some really good sequences. It is an album that should appeal to the majority of people who visit the site. Highly recommended.

Apart from the fact that my name is not "Breuckner" I don't complain at all!

Smile

By the way, isn't Dave Law member of this forum, too?

Thank You very much, Dave - glad You like it!

I just have created an extended (and commented) preview medley of the album and put it on my ambient SoundCloud page. This should give You a better idea of the album than the one-minute-clips on the SynGate website, or MusicZeit respectively...

100 Million Miles Under The Stars - Medley by BruecknerAmbient

If You can't understand my mumbles, You can read the description over at SoundCloud, by the way... Wink

And more by the way, if anyone is wondering when the rest of the "making of..." story will be added - I decided to share that story as a whole as a PDF file, which will be better to read, and nicer to look at (...I hope!).

At the moment I'm still giving it the final touches, and I guess I will be able to share it here (and elsewhere) tomorrow. It's almost finished.
And just in case anyone really waited for it - I apologize. There were unforseen obstacles...

Here's a little teaser from the "supplementary release" to "100 Million Miles..." (which will contain the "missing" 5 1/2 hours from the album sessions) that will be available on BandCamp soon:

Well, isn't it sort of tradition for a german EM musician to get spelled wrongly? Laughing

Freose, Schmoling, Schultze, Breukner...it's really not easy... Wink

By the way...brillant 100th album, Michael, I am very proud of you...especially knowing some of your early stuff, which was...well...early and...stuff Smile

But since "Endless Mind Portal" you got me completely, which is not easy as you know my taste a bit. One can observe your playing getting better, your composition getting more demanding, you yourself getting more confident.

I would say, your last say 10 albums are on any means professionel and SYNGATE or any other EM Label should take care about releasing them, for there is a certain quality in your music, promissing more to come...

...just my opinion though Wink

You know what...? I do like Your opinion! Wink

Hm, well...as You perhaps have noticed, I have recently updated my discographie blog at LastFM, and at that occasion did read all my descriptions of the older albums there. I often ask myself if I have grown any better since I've started. Actually, my idea of it is that I have (slightly) improved in terms of production skills. However, sometimes I miss the crazyness and experiemental edge of some of my earlier stuff (when I still way young and wild...), something I feel I want to return to in future projects. Well, and many more aspects I brood about at the moment...

In any case, there are still a lot of older albums that I still hope will be noticed one day...

Well, but...it does already exist - in the shape of my CD-Box-Set "No Single Single" (containing 85 albums and one CD-Rom, all with individual artwork, numbered, and...so on - guess I mentioned that before).

Cool

Looks like that (on a hot summer night...):

Oh, and if You like to have a look at the artwork (front covers only - the albums of course have full artwork...), I think You can still do so over at MySpace, where I once have uploaded the whole stuff in the photo section:
