Any plans for this Sunday evening (Feb. 19.)?
So, how about this?
Jazz Drums meets Electronic Music; Weberei, Gütersloh (the place where the Electronic Circus happened).
The Drummer Markus Strothmann finished the bachelor's degree at the jazz department of the "ArTEZ College of Arts" in Enschede, Netherlands.
Small Stage at the Weberei / Kleine Bühne in der Weberei
Looking forward to meet you there!

Gütersloh Polyphony Vol. VII: Danish Soundclouds with Erik Emil Eskildsen
erik emil eskildsen is a danish touch guitarist specializing in improvised music, soundscapes and spectral processing, using the laptop as an “extension” of his touch guitar to create textural layers of sounds.
The audio signal will be then digitally processed by a generative set-up which will create a complex electro-acoustic sound-set.
Visually it will be accompanied again by the mystifying and enigmatic projections by the photographer Detlef Güthenke
Also listen to Eskildsens release debut ”Slow Fire Burning Gently“.
Old boiler house / Kesselhaus der Gütersloher Weberei.

Luckily, the date has been shifted from Tuesdays to Sundays (which I think is a lot more suited for concerts).

A nice photography of Erik Emil Eskildsen performing at the Gütersloh Polyphony yesterday. It was indeed a very intense evening.
All of those concerts of the Gütersloh Polyphony are broadcasted live and in realtime by Welle303, by the way.

Gütersloh Polyphony VIII. The series goes on.
in the summer time usally there is a break in the concert series. This season rather is dedicated to all kinds of outdoor activities.
The Gütersloh Polyphony does not really make a break though. We will go on with our series at every first Sunday of each month to exclusivly present a live event on air.

We present a recording of the fourteenth installment of Bill Fox' Soundscapes Concert Series with Bernhard Wöstheinrich (Oct. 2 2011, Nazareth, PA)
Here and there in between the organizers and the host of the show, Uwe Brameier, will have a chat about the idea, the aim and everything that uses to happen around of the Gütersloh Polyphony (in german).

Gütersloh Polyphony IX. The series goes on during the summer break.
Sunday, July 1, 2012, 20:00 (UTC+2h / CEST)
centrozoon "Fire" - online broadcast of the upcoming live album at www.welle303.com
-

centrozoon's "Fire" documents the complete evening of recordings at the foyer of Gütersloh's town hall in June 2011.
Taking place five months ahead of the "We Will Tongue You Tour 2011/2012" with its 13 concerts in five countries (including a homecoming gig as part of the the Gütersloher Polyphonie concert series), the Fire session was scheduled with the primary intention of recording audio and video material to promote centrozoon's renewed intention of presenting their music live, and to acquire more gigs for the tour. It also marked the band's first time playing together in over 18 months, so while there was no audience present, the recordings served both as a "sound check" and as way to shorten the wait until the tour.
Video footage from four Fire tracks on centrozoon's Youtube channel at http://www.youtube.com/centrozoon
The audience is cordially invited to to chat and discuss with the musicians Tobias Reber and Bernhard Wöstheinrich in the chat-room of the welle303-site (Markus Reuter is not available since he is currently on tour in the US with the Crimson Projekct)

Michael Peters playing live at the "Gütersloh Polyphony" event series from Oct. 2011
www.welle303.com
-

Michael Peters is a explorer of new sounds. The renowned WIRE magazine has reviewed two of his albums in their "Outer Limits" section, which says it all.
Michael's main instrument is the guitar - he studied with renowned guitarist, Robert Fripp and also is influenced by guitarists David Torn, Eivind Aarset, and Fred Frith. He extends the guitar using electronic effects, midi, and livelooping techniques. He has played in avant rock and open improvisational groups.
He also has experimented with sampling and cutting up random FM radio broadcasts to use as elements in live improvisation.

The Gütersloh Polyphony Event series continues (amongst all those 'super-festivals' which are going to happen at the same time)
Strothmann-Walter-Wöstheinrich-Trio
"Beyond Gravity"
consisting of:
Markus Strothmann - Drums
UFO Walter - Bass; Randy Hansen Experience, Marla Glen, Alex Oriental Experience etc.
Bernhard Wöstheinrich - Synthesizers
Illustration by Kurt Röschl from "Raumflotte I startet - ein Tatsachenbericht von morgen" by Erich Dolezal (Verlag für Jugend und Volk, Vienna 1952)
Definitively an absolute insiders' tip and a real tidbit, worth coming for everybody who is interested in extended ethereal and pulsating flows of music!
