As read in MOJO
Quote:
The MOJO Lifetime Achievement Award (presented by Sony Commercial Music Group)
Winner: Jean-Michel Jarre

PA: "Jean-Michel Jarre is up there with Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream as one of the real pioneers of electronic music. The difference is that Jarre has always thought on an epic scale. 1977's Oxygène is a seminal album, but we also salute the experimentation of later work like Zoolook. Jean-Michel's influence is incontestable and, for all his mainstream appeal, he also manages to make records that ooze an essential integrity."

And this is what Jean Michel Jarre himself had to say about the event:

Quote:
[...] I was deeply impressed when I came on stage, in front of a such brilliant and warm audience so kind to me. I told them that it means a lot to me coming from MOJO, specially because I have always had a special relationship with England for artistic and personal reasons, and that I feel rather like a beginner, doing my first real world tour in 2010. There are so many things to do out there in so many fields. So I hope to come back in 20 years to receive eventually a life achievement award part 2...

I'm amazed how much the TD brigade slate him.

Actually, perhaps I'm not amazed.

The guy is class.

Had his ups and downs (IMHO) like any artist with such longevity.

But even after all this time, he's still in there.

Jarre seems to have aged so much better than certain others I could mention.

Not just that... He seems to enjoy himself more than ever.
Jarre will always be my EM hero. Smile

And, surprisingly, the Kraftwerk crowd, too. Wink
