Sorry I missed this question tho you would have to open an account with iTunes then do a search for Cliff Martinez. Not cheap for a download but much cheaper than an original CD.

I also enjoyed Cliff Martinez's score. very impressive. Simple and perfect.
The soundtrack from Tarkovsky's Solaris is fantastic as well, very dramatic. It has also some music by Bach. Quite incredible for the Soviet conditions in which this film has been created, especially the highway scene.
Solaris is based on a novel by famous polish sci-fi writer Stanislaw Lem.

Indeed. The highway scene was shot in Japan, by the way.

hehe yeah you can see the Japanese highway signs

Its probably one of the better soundtracks from the last years but the Artemiev original is superior.

I wonder what kind of synthesizers he used for that...only russian types?

The Stalker soundtrack from him is also very good

For Solaris he mostly used the ANS electrooptical synthesizer (a one of a kind machine also used by Coil and a few others). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ANS_synthesizer

On Stalker he used EMS SYNTHI 100 and a lot of acoustic sounds processed via EMS's filters.

Both soundtracks are excellent.
