I don't mind their voices so much (at least on the early stuff). True, neither had what you could call a strong voice (and yes, struggled to hold a tune at times ), but at least they had character - something largely lacking in most of today's popular music.
Souvenir in particular was just about the perfect early 80's electro-pop tune.

Oh certainly. They were special and on some tracks his voice really worked, but the more poppy it got, the more strained it all seemed.
I guess when it became too produced it became more obvious (to me anyway)
