I am sure many of you have a list of best albums ever, or at least some idea about which album should go to such a list. How about posting your list here? Suggested guidelines: one album per artist, 5 albums max
To make a starting point:

The Escher Drawings / Bas Broekhuis
    The Universal Play / Gandalf
The Concerts In China / Jean Michel Jarre
    X / Klaus Schulze
    Force Majeure / Tangerine Dream

Only five...?!? * SIGH! * Rolling Eyes

Klaus Schulze, Mirage

Jean Michel Jarre, Oxygène

Peter Michael Hamel, Colours of Time

Tangerine Dream, Rubycon

Michael Hoenig, Departure from the Northern Wasteland

No big surprises, eh...? Cool
But You can replace these by the other 55 best albums of all times. Or 555...

Oh, and I considered electronic music only (obviously). From the Golden Era.

Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene
Tangerine Dream - Logos
Klaus Schulze - Mirage
Vangelis - Blade Runner
Edgar Froese - Stuntman

Those are the first that come to my mind. I do think a list of 100 album wouldn't be enough...

1. TD - Poland
2. TD - Logos
3. Jean Michel Jarre - Equinoxe
4. Jean Michel Jarre - Oxygene
5. Vangelis - Antarctica

The last one was the most difficult. Could have been Spiral or China too. Or Johannes Schmoelling's Wuivend Riet. Although I have to admit that's mostly because of 2 tracks: Matjora en Zeit. But these are sooo extremely good.

With respect to the first four albums on my list: I literally never grow tired of these.

Oops... Missed the one album per artist rule. But sorry, I won't change my list for that. Wink

EM

TD Rubycon / Phaedra Cool
KS Timewind
Hoenig - Northern Wasteland
Autumn Of Communion - First one on FAX
Roach / Stearns - Beyond Earth and Sky

All genres

Yes - Topographic Oceans
Yes - Close To The Edge
Genesis - Lamb
TD Rubycon / Phaedra Cool

Floyd - Animals

There are a lot that could push into the above from time to time but that’s a no bad attempt at two lists.
