After watching the recent conversation between Bernhard Woestheinrich and Markus Reuter in one of Markus' podcast episodes I thought it would be a nice idea to revisite some of Bernhard's work (and it was...).

Been listening to this on Spotify this morning. Excellent, beautiful, what an album for Klaus to create as his final work.

Ordered the CD.

I ordered the cd, as ths is his final one. Started listening to it last night, but turned it off pretty quickly. It's boring as hell. Full of preset sounds and worn out patterns.

Well, given the previous couple of albums (and his state of health), what did You expect? A complete re-invention, a return to the form of 1977, or at least 1998?
I'm not sure if it makes a lot of sense to purchase any music which most likely will be different from what You prefer, and then later complain about it... Laughing

I tend to agree to that notion though regarding the first track (although I find it grows slightly more interesting towards the end), but for me, the other two tracks are much better. Especially from half way into "Seth", when Tiepold's cello is finally introduced, the music is really touching, delicate and beautiful - and also full of subtle detail.
That said I needed two or three listens too to really get into it.

Of course, it's slowly evolving music and its effect needs time to unfold.
In that sense it's obviously "boring" - especially if one prefers music in which a lot of "action" is going on in a short period of time.

Exactly my thoughts when listening to the excerpts released prior to Schulze's passing.

In cases like this I always find myself wondering how people would respond to an album like that if Klaus Schulze (or any other major name) was not written all over it.

The eye tells the ear what to behold, and the mind does the rest. Or not.
