Dear friends

One half of EFSS returned to Ouddorp this year.
Christian and me recorded 9 new tracks, similar to the EFSS stuff, yet different.
It's more like the EFSS of Ouddorp Takes times, if not even more poppy.
We call our project and the upcoming album GROBEK.
Listen to some snippets on soundcloud:
https://soundcloud.com/jebiel/grobek-teaser

We release the album in any case, but we are still discussing the format.
Since the German post raised the shipping costs to approx. 5 Euro (to the EU) or 9 Euro (outside the EU), we expect considerably less sales to other countries than before, which will make it harder to hit break-even. CD sales are decreasing anyway...
The obvious alternative is to offer "download only" (via Bandcamp).
What do you guys think, does a pressed CD still pay off financially?

For me personally, it doesn't matter if it is download only...

But I do know of some collectors who definitely still prefer physical releases.

If you have experienced diminishing cd sales already, the choice should be very easy!

Best of luck with this release and choose wisely.

Personally I wouldn't mind to pay for a phisical CD, but that's just my oppinion.

Anyway I would buy either a download or a CD. It's great music, all in all Smile

Sounds promising Jörg.
Personally I prefer a factory-pressed product, but alternatively stick to a quality download if the cost are too high & you're not sure anymore you sell 200 hardcopies...

I used to prefer cd's. And to a certian attempt I still do actually. But I'm definitely not against downloads and am appreciating the convenience more and more, Besides, I don't have much more room left to grow my cd collection.
If I were you, I'd go for download only.

Beginning reminds me a bit of Zoolook....and I mean that in a positive way! Not as dark as some of your previous releases, loved the last bit and I look forward to the download!

Hope you like it!

I must say, we are excited about the release. We had such a good time recording it, I hope it's coming over.

Nice review by Star's End:

Quote:
In its mix of anthemic melodies, harmonic landscapes and motorik rhythms the listener will find a steady sonic pleasure – as each of its nine tracks glitter with its own charm and electricity
