To Michael BrĂźckner (as to many people) the land of dreams - both at night as well as in the form of daydreams - always had been a source of inspiration.
With this album, he attempted to dream up an immersive journey through the different stages of dreams. And like actual dreams themselves, the music draws from a lot of different sources - like the esoteric idea of five levels of consiousness, the scientific view of different phases of sleep, elements of our daily lives mingling with messages from our subconsicious mind and with impressions received from books, or movies, from pictures and also other music.

All tracks recorded in stereo in one go using modular gear:
- While recording some CV controlled modular effects are used.
- In the pre-master phase added some additional modular fx.
- Recording, pre-mastering and mastering is done in Ableton using a Weiss master chain.

âA MENTAL RESETâ happens while asleep and the brain processes all past happenings preparing body and mind for the future to be able to handle the now in a manner that fits the own thoughts about life itself. The brain scans the now in a constant rhythm to adjust thoughts how to react. We should have a collective MENTAL RESET learning from the past, be silence for a while and aim for a united and peaceful future, starting NOW!!

Gear list âA Mental Resetâ by SONICrider
All tracks are created with modular and hardware gear, recorded in stereo and mastered in Ableton via a Weiss master chain.
Beside the TipTop Audio Z-DSPâs and several modules creating atmospheric layers (using envelop followers controlling them), each track has a main âinstrumentâ.
All MentelScans: are created with 3 ACL Q-LFOâs where the 1v/o inputs are chained, this makes the created wave forms unique from harsh noise till freaky bubbling sine like tunes and everything in between.
The Reset (words by Alan Watts - the inspiration for this album): 4MS sampler has a sound bank of several modular sounds + Waldorf Pulse2.
Brain Exercise P1 and P2: Rob Hordijk Benjolin as sound and modulation source controlling Pittsburg Modular set up + live input into TipTop Audio Granular processor.
Rethink: ADDAC 112 granular & looping module ideal for drone like tunes.
