Hello Everyone.
I would like to introduce my latest release of my ethnic flavored electronica project Open Canvas.
Travel by Sound is an electronic excursion into the the melodies and rhythms of far eastern lands. Where the intertwining electronic pulses of synthesizers and melodic wind blown and hand plucked instruments of India and the middle east meet in a peaceful dance. A sonic tapestry where the percolating rhythm's of the tabla and dumbek meet dub infected basslines and the distant chants of the muezzin. Sit back close your eyes, open your mind and ears its time to travel east.
Travel by Sound is the continuing musical saga/exploration that began with the debut release Nomadic Impressions and followed by Indumani.

I am happy to publish the Mac of BIOnighT's latest news of including the presentation of a brand new album.

How long has it been since I last sent out a newsletter? A year? Something like that. Why? Several reasons.
I've been extremely busy in various areas of life, which obviously forced me to drastically reduce my music making time.
Plus, the way illegal download has managed to kill music got me very depressed and - quite frankly - I could hardly see a point in keeping on putting into it the huge amount of work and care it requires just so that people who have no respect for me and for the other musicians can enjoy it by stealing it.
But, above all, I went thru what some would call an uninspired period. I guess things change, and people change, and I've been changing. That got me into a sort of undefined territory where I wasn't focused enough to see clearly what I had inside and, therefore, I wasn't able to turn it into music. Being that the main (maybe the sole) purpose of my making music, it goes without saying that the few albums I kind of forced myself to record are not sharply focused, either, and I was far from producing music at the rate I used to.
However, things seem to be getting under some sort of control now. Not that my situation has particularly improved, but at least I can see what I have inside a bit more clearly and I can transform it into music much better than I could for the past year or so. I'm having fun with it again, to boot.
Therefore, I also decided to create a new look for my newsletter, one that is so dangerously close to that spammers use that a lot of you will never receive it, but that's life.
Life, though, has brought about something beautiful, too, in the form of some VSTi's (virtual instruments, that is) so amazing that I had a hard time believing my ears when I tried them. Equally amazing is their brilliant developer's generosity - they're available for free! Life is good. Sometimes, not always, but sometimes it is 
Anyway, this pack of instruments by Elektrostudio (Poland) are so very inspiring that I recorded a whole fairly retrò album (the atmospheres move between the 50's and the 70's) using just them. Since the developer made the VSTi's available for free, I decided to make the album freely downloadable, too.
So, you can get it by clicking HERE (please, create you own folder to which unzip the various files, I couldn't seem to have the stupid winzip do it...), all I ask is that you listen to the whole album with all the tracks in the right sequence. The most depressing thing in this horrible MP3 era is that the concept of album is dying, and that is BAD. Tracks are for an album what chapters are for a book, not all of them may be equally interesting or capture your attention at first listen, but each one is there for a reason - a brick that is part of a wall that is part of a house in which you can live for an hour or so. Please leave the hit-single-only culture to those who are musically superficial and take real trips into music (all music, I'm not just talking about mine), because that's the only way to really feel and receive what it has to give. And that's a lot.
One last thing: comments are welcome as always, but please note that I am really busy (and I'll be at least till September, unfortunately) so I deeply apologize, but I won't be able to reply anytime soon 
I also apologize to all people who haven't heard from me for a while - please, be patient...

Juta Takahashi is very proud to announce that his sixth album, entitled "Quiet Rain", has been released on June 30, 2009. It consists of four ambient tracks, which were produced mainly with analogue synthesizers. Some of the tracks are flavored with Mellotron or acoustic piano.

I just wanted to share an inedit song that I composed for piano solo dedicated to Jaco Pastorius. Is not electronic music but I though that perhaps could be interest for somebody. Of course the concert it wouldn't in this style of music.
