Encyclotronica - New Electronic Music Station
Posted Mon May 20, 2013 10:44 am by BruecknerAmbient
EM News Tireless American ambient musician and networker Jack Hertz has started another interesting project lately, it's a mix between internet streaming radio and a compenium of new indipendent releases (released und Creative Commons License, from 2013 on) from the genres:

Ambient ~ Dark Ambient ~ Drone ~ Experimental ~ Field Recordings ~ Intelligent Ambient Music

So, if You're inclined to this kind of stuff, I think it's well worth checking out.

http://encyclotronica.com/

Image

To name a few of the many musicians featured there (some are fellow forum members...):

Steve Roach, Altus, Shane Morris, Phrozenlight, Phillip Wilkerson, Gustavo Jobim, Cousin Silas, Jack himself, of course, and many more. Yes, including some of my stuff, too...

Here's a little "press" about this project (on a closer look, announcments, rather...):

http://www.synth.me/

http://relaxedmachinery.ning.com/profiles/blogs/free-electronic-music-classifieds-on-encyclotronica-com

Oh, and if You're a fellow ambient musician and have new releases under a creative commons license, I'm quite sure that they will be happy to add it, too...

New music by Jeff Duke + M. Brückner on StillStream
Posted Mon May 20, 2013 10:23 am by BruecknerAmbient
New releases Last Saturday a new album by loop guitar player Jeff Duke, and new material by me (which will be released on the label "Klangwirkstoff" later this year) wer featured at stillstream.com, in radio host Rebekkah Hilgrave's weekly show "At Water's Edge", under the headline "Mad Scientists" (now finally something I can identify with...).

I'm very happy to say that the new tracks (of both of us) were very well received.

Cool

If You want to judge for Yourself, the show is still online as a podcast.

Quoting Stillstream radio host Rebekkah Hilgraves:

"This week’s edition of At Water’s Edge features new works by two great musical Mad Scientists: Michael Brückner and Jeff Duke.

Michael Brückner’s ”Naura EP” hasn’t even been released yet, so this is its official internet debut. Hold on to your tinfoil hats, ladies and gents; it’s a mad ride! In a good way, of course.

Jeff Duke’s new release Closed Worlds is our second Mad Scientist entry for today’s program, and explores the question of perception vs. reality. Where does one end and the other begin? What is reality, anyway? Listen and perhaps you’ll create your own answer."

http://awe.fm/MadSci

"The podcast of today's At Water's Edge program, "Mad Scientists", is now available. Please be sure to check it out--we have the broadcast premieres of new releases by Michael Brückner and Jeff Duke.

These are both really interesting releases, both for the music itself and for the premises upon which they were built."

Nice little compliments (from people who listen to top ambient musicians on a dayly basis) like this one, for example, really make my day:

"I can't adequately express (...) how very much I enjoyed it. Seriously, it's one of my all-time favorites now."

Mr. Green . . .

NO MORE release video for Suicide Commando (1981)
Posted Sat May 18, 2013 8:42 pm by DogDogDog
EM News NO MORE release official video for the original version of the legendary „Suicide Commando“ (1981)

It took years to get this done Smile

official video of the original 1981 version of SUICIDE COMMANDO
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g-3ptIj-jbg

NO MORE became known through the genre-busting indie-classic „Suicide Commando“, a title that since its appearance in 1981 has not only been included in numerous compilations but was also placed again and again in the limelight in remixes by DJ Hell, Vitalic and Echopark.
So the song remains to this day an essential part of many DJ sets, from Dark Wave to Electroclash, from EBM to Post Punk, from Electronica to Indierock.

Today NO MORE combine unusual electronic instruments, such as the theremin and „the green circle“, with analogue sounds and create – musically and visually – an impressive Post-Punk-Kraut-Electronia combination.

syndae - episode 217
Posted Fri May 17, 2013 10:00 pm by treibklang
EM News Some times are just fortunate, and time washes luck ashore ones life. A wonderful thing this is, even more so, if it happens to people close to you. Well, I feel quite lucky, and I hope and think, some of you do so as well. Hence, time for beautiful sounds of heaven. Starting right into it with Acrilic Colors' Ab Origine. And then, we let the Parallel Sun shine on us. Afterwards, Kangaroo MusiQue gives an inspiring moment from Kometenjunge II. Just before Owann enchants us with his beautiful Meadows. Richard Bone then shows Images from a Parallel Word. While Data Rebel presents Illusions of Reality. Very intreaguing at last, we get an Introduction by The Glimmer Room.

ANODIZE / News / AUTUMN OF COMMUNION 2 CD / PREVIEW TRAX UP

AUTUMN OF COMMUNION
AUTUMN OF COMMUNION 2

> TRACKS NOW POSTED FOR PREVIEW / DISC AVAILABLE FOR PRE-ORDER <

RELEASE DATE: 6/5/13

Hello to all:

Anodize is very pleased to announce that the upcoming Autumn of Communion 2 is now available for preview on the album's release page:

http://anodizesound.bandcamp.com/album/autumn-of-communion-summer-2013

The follow-up to their highly-regarded Fax release, Autumn of Communion is the duo of electronica jack-of-all-trades Lee Norris (Metamatics, Norken, Nacht Plank) & British musician Michael Gainford (Mick Chillage). AoC was not only their debut on Pete Namlook's legendary Fax label, but his untimely passing meant it was the label's swansong as well.

Anodize is proud to be releasing the duo's beautifully constructed follow-up, simply called Autumn of Communion 2. AoC 2 works through minimal and maximal zones of abstract sound, a very Fax-like record in feel that recalls not only the heyday of early 90s experimental IDM/environmental space music hybrids but some of the classic Namlook generated albums of that period.

A Periphery subdivision, Anodize is a locus for tactile visual audio. Cutting across genre boundaries, actualizing imagistic sounds from some of the most provocative electronic & experimental sonic artisans out there, all the label’s titles exude silver in all its opulent glory, featuring real-world manufactured CDs housed in rectangular, collectors edition stickered tins containing a two-panel insert, limited to just 300 copies. Anodize prides itself on the artistic value inherent in the physical object, what it represents historically & literally to the aural & visual mediums simultaneously vanishing into the digital ether. . . .
